As part of Semester One in Year Two at UON, our module challenged us to design a 'Shirt That Isn't a Shirt', based around the title 'Distorted Reality, made only from calico.

I approached this from a story-building perspective, creating a world where humanity fled from Earth due to the changing climate to create a new society. Despite the chance to start afresh, the world still devolved into warfare. The garment I made is a conceptual 'Soldier's Uniform of the Future'.

Demonstrating both the restrive nature of the society created, as well as the disjointed effect this has on the population, I found this project extremely enjoyable, and challenged my pattern drafting abilities.

I made the skirt further into the year, as we collaborated with Hair & Makeup Students and Photography Students, combined with industry support, within the univerity to create the images seen here.
