Frilly Top
The concept
Inspired by the lush gardens of Cheswick House, the Frilly Top takes on the fluid, lush greenery of the estate in reclaimed materials and custom printed fabric.
Reclaimed Materials
A large majority of the materials (all besides the Custom Printed Map Fabric) in this garment were sourced from the Salvation Army Trading Company. The main items that have been reused include Bed Sheets and Table Linens, but items of clothing and homeware have been repurposed here.

Custom Map Fabric
Taken from High Quality Images of the original maps that sit in the study at Cheswick House, this material was printed with reactive inks for bright colour and strong wash fastness. The maps depict the lands that Cheswick House's estate once covered. There is a mix of Fine Cotton Muslin (50gsm) that was Repeat Printed with a Mirror Effect, and Pima Lawn 100% Cotton (75gsm) that was a Basic Repeat Print. Both fabrics are certified with EU Ecolabel Certified Recycled and Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
Care Instructions
This garment should be washed at 30°C, low tumble dry heat or hung to dry. It can be ironed with a low heat.
Only wash when needed to prolong life.

As with all of the gathered pieces in the collection, the frills hold secrets if you look - much like Cheswick House. Based on the original ceiling moulding in the drawing room, these laser cut layered tiles both allow for surplus fabric to be used, but provide a dynamic and fun element to the piece. This seeks to enure the consumer and audience searches through the intricacies of the ruffles to appreciate the materials, and feel more connected to the garment.
