Combination
The concept
Inspired by the Victorian Combination (an undergarment combining a corset cover and petticoat), this piece combines historical design with a contemporary silhouette. Constructed from patchworked embroidery samplers, the blocks of colour echo the bricks of the house on which this collection is based on.
Reclaimed Materials
All of the materials in this garment were sourced from the Salvation Army Trading Company. The main items that have been reused include Bed Sheets and Table Linens, but items of clothing and homeware have been repurposed here.
Care Instructions
This garment should be washed at 30°C, low tumble dry heat or hung to dry. It can be ironed with a low heat.
Only wash when needed to prolong life.

Flossing Embroidery
A contemporary take on Victorian flossing is a recurring detail throughout the collection. Inspired by the ever-present florals of Cheswick House’s gardens, delicate embroidery - primarily composed of French knots - appears across several pieces. This motif first emerged during the development of the collection’s first corset toiles and serves as not only a nod to the elegance of traditional Victorian undergarments but also to the functional aspect - used as a reinforcement tool in corset boning, to increase comfort for the wearer and prolong the life of the garment.
